Update

Hello.

We are scheduling Independent School Health Check surveys for Spring 2017.  If you are interested please let us know.  The timeframe for spring surveys is 30 days after you return from your spring break to early May.  And, as this is budget preparation time in many schools now is the time to set aside funds for surveying during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Please let us know if you want to offer your students the opportunity to take the ISHC survey.

Warm regards,
Rosemary and Peter

SCHOOLS THAT WORK  by David Leonhardt

New York Times, November 6, 2016

Educational research is beginning to identify differences in outcomes in charter schools. Although the battle lines are drawn between public and charter schools for educational dollars, some charter schools are outperforming or at par with their public schools. Because charter schools offer students and parents a choice they are potentially competitors with independent schools. This article identifies a concept in high performing charter schools. They are called “high expectation, high support schools.” If ever a phrase captures the promise of independent school education. This is what we are all about; this is the concept upon which we build our school communities. So take a look at this article and see what we can glean from this research perspective.
